This week we read both fiction and non-fiction books about Fireflies. I was shocked to learn that some children have never even seen a firefly. I remember seeing them all over my yard when I was a kid but not so much anymore. Keep your eyes open for them this summer.
We had some PIE in class. Not apple, or lemon meringue, but authors purpose PIE. The class searched and sorted titles for each piece; persuade, inform and entertain.
Students got a little rusty solving subtraction with regrouping
problems so we had to do some practicing this week. We also have been
learning about fractions.
I hope you got to enjoy our Memorial Day performance today. I know I may be biased but I think the second graders were the stars of the show.
